Well, holy cow, would you look at that!!  The Bengals finally won their first game of the year!  It only took them nine weeks to get the memo that the season had started, but they finally were able to put a win together.  I don’t know if it’s because the Jacksonville Jaguars are more hapless than the Bengals right now or what, but, the end result is, the vex gets off the Bengals.  For two weeks, at least.  Not exactly a reason to have a parade, but it definitely is nice to talk about a Bengals win for once.

So, Chad Johnson Ocho Cinco delivered with two touchdown catches, that was nice.  And former Bear Cedric Benson ran for 104 yards and a touchdown.  I mean, seriously, they acted like an NFL team yesterday, and that was a definitely nice of pace.  Now, don’t get me wrong, they tried to throw the game away at the end with a Glen Holt fumble, that they scored a touchdown on.  For once, as luck would have it, luck favored the Bengals as Jax could not convert on a 2-point play off of a touchdown later in the game.  So, I acknowledge that they about gave the game away, but they did fight once they got into the pit, so good for them.  Speaking of, John Henderson from Jacksonville, you’re an idiot.  After going after the EYES of Bengals’ Andrew Whitworth, just how do you justify that?  Just pathetic. If you’re that keyed up, I think it’s time to take just a breather.  But, a win’s a win, and we have two weeks to enjoy it before our next game.

So, this past weekend’s excursion was a BLAST.  For those who’ve never gone, the French Lick Resort & Casino was just amazing.  The hotel had this old charm about it.  I joked that this is the kind of hotel that you always see in the movies that haunted.  Chandaliers, etchings, marble, the whole nine yards.  Our room was kind of small, but it served it’s purpose.  The sister site, West Baden Springs Casino, was supposed to be phenomenal as well, but we didn’t make it over there.  We got there at about 6:00, enough to get settled in our room before we had to head down for the meal.  I had a house salad, Prime Rib, and New York style Cheesecake. Awwwwwwwwwwesome.  Oh man, that was some good eatings.  Some of the group was going gambling afterwards, but both Mo and I were beat, so we decided to call it an early night afterwards.  Sunday morning we had a huge buffet breakfast, and everything was delicious.  They even had omelet cooks!  So we got stuffed on Breakfast before we had to travel to my parents’ house to pick up Griffen.  Before we left, we were able to take a quick tour of the grounds, and checked out the Pluto Spring.  It was neat to see some of this old history in place.  Very interesting.  If, by some way we’re able to sneak down there again, I’d definitely like to check out West Baden Springs.  The drive to and from the place was beautiful.  The trees were changing colors, and it wasn’t too hot or too cold.  I was kind of surprised how little there was around there.  Honestly, there was, like, NOTHING there.  I figured it’d be a little more touristy.  But, all in all, a great weekend trip.  I recommend anyone that can sneak down there for a night or two.

On the way back, we stopped a Wal-Mart or two.  I found the 25th Anniversary edition of Optimus Prime, dude!!  Optimus Prime was the first Transformer I ever got, namely because my grandpa drove the same kind of truck (by same, I mean a Frieghtliner, not a transforming one).  It was the reincarnation of the very first semi, the one that I bought when I was a wee lad, and had a comic book, video, and a sound box much like the 25th Anniversary Joes did.  I had to pick it up.  After flip-flopping, I decided to pick it up, thanks to the approval of my wife :)  Nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks when I opened it.  Although, extremely price, it was very cool to have this in my possession again.  The last time I remember seeing my original Optimus Prime, I just recall one of the legs falling off.  And that was about 20 years ago.

Oh, I didn’t get to gripe about the time change yet:  Still stupid and still unneeded.  I’m not happy with it.  GRR.
