Gah.  Fwah.  Crap.  GRR.  Other animalistic grunts and sounds.

So, as I close in on the end of my first volleyball season, a letter seems to evade my team.  The rare but powerful W.  We’ve got our fill of L’s…tons of them.  Every game, we’ve gotten the L.  Why?  No clue.

It’s frustrating, though.  We’re not a bad team.  We’re a good team, with good players.  Am I the reason?  It’s possible.  Lord knows I’ve had my share of screw ups and errors.  I’ve also helped our team though.  So that’s something…right?  Right?  Who knows.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  I’m not one of those guys totally focused on winning.  Quite the opposite, really.  I want to have fun.  But dammit, I’d like to have more points at the end of the game than the other team SOME, you know?  But I love my team.  They seem like decent folk, and they, as well, want to have fun.  But man, I wish I could do more to help us out, to get a win for these guys.

So, either a few of them are gluttons for punishment, or they’re desperate, but two of the girls on the team and another guy and I are playing on a quad Sand volleyball team.  How will we fair?  I don’t know, but it can’t be worse than our early spring league.

I’m really excited to be continuing playing with the same core group of people.  It’s always a learning and growing period when you play as a team, and if we can cut down the awkward timeframe, and just jump into playing, well, that should be better for us, right?  One would think.  We do have to adjust to 4’s instead of 6’s, but it shouldn’t be horrible.  I don’t have to make the readjustment of not playing in about 7 years, so that will help our cause.

Meanwhile, on the home front…  last night SUCKED.  Phoenix is having issues sleeping again, he may be cutting teeth once again.  And Griffen woke up screaming around 2:00 this morning.  We’re thinking he had a bad dream, because he said he had ants crawling on him, and he was completely wigging out.  But a half-Pop Tart later, he was back in bed and good to go.  As for Phoenix, I’m not sure what’s up.  We gave him some pain medicine, but he still had some issues overnight.  Hopefully we can nail this one in the bud so we don’t have another month and a half of hell…
