😛

So my teammate and I were talking on Monday, and I heard troubling news. Yes, I know it’s Wednesday, it takes a couple days for things to sink in. In all fairness, it’s been a couple busy days. Anyhoo, the AVP, the domestic professional sand volleyball league, has gone under. This is sad. It declared bankruptcy in July and ceased operations on August 13th. …yes, a little late to the bus stop, I know this. But yeah, man, that sucks! It officially formed in 1983 and was basically the sand volleyball that I knew growing up. If I saw any professional volleyball, it was AVP. It was always a treat to watch sand volleyball on a given weekend growing up. It was only shown randomly, as there wasn’t a ton of tournaments. This is basically where I got my love of sand volleyball from. Nowadays, if I want to watch professional sand volleyball, I can watch NBC Sports Universal, they have some random FIVB (More of a world-based league) tournament which is nice, but still, sad day (I suppose that sad day was weeks ago, actually…). Just goes to show that sand volleyball still has a ways to go in terms of popularity. Kind of disappointed it closed up before the WNBA :-P.

So, I’m thinking of joining up with Redbox. Do any of you guys use it? Seems a little to good to be true, especially with them offering Blu-Rays now. $1.50 a day is a pretty solid deal. Plus, with Netflix not streaming brand new movies (yet), it seems like a cheap alternative to going out and plunking down $25 for a movie I might not love. Anyone?

I’m not doing very good on my pictures-a-day thing. It never started as that, it was just so easy to load up an image taken from the phone, it got to be pretty fun. I’m just running out of photo subjects to take pictures of.  I suppose I can do a photo of a boy a day, but do you know how much of a pain it is to get a photo of two boys that never stay still? Pain. In. The. Ass. Ahhhh, thats my boys. Constant motion. Gotta love them. :-)
