Who ever would have thought that between my professional team of the Cincinnati Bengals and my college team of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, that the Huskers would have had the more disappointing season thus far? Sure, it hurt them more that I was expecting more out of the Big Red than the Bengals, sure, I only had the Bengals winning three games… But still. Sheesh… I mean, Northwestern, guys?! What the hell?! And thusly, Nebraska once again drops out of the Top 10, spiraling down to 19th. Yuck… Rough. Meanwhile, the Bengals are playing solid ball and streaking hot lately. Granted, they haven’t been playing the beat of the best, but they are getting wins, staying in the game, and fighting for what they have. That said, I haven’t bought into the hype. They have 4 big games coming up, two against Pittsburgh, one against Baltimore, and one against Cleveland. Then they play Houston following that. But that which they should be measured against is the division games, Pittsburgh and Baltimore. Those games mean the most. Who knows how they’ll come out, I’m hoping they can find a way to be competitive in those games, to smack them around a bit.they need to. Its a requirement. But, even if they get blanked, they still have a shot at a winning record, so here’s hoping. Man, do you know how good they’d be if they were in a lesser division? The AFC North should be the measuring to which all others should be measured against. All others pale in comparison. All I know is, they make it a lot easier to talk about football again…

So Mo and I went to Newport, KY this past weekend for a business dinner. The food was good, we went to Brió, on the Levee, an Italian place. It was nice, but I tell you, the weekend away to catch our breaths, that was so needed. Just to be able to sleep through the night, be spoiled with real breakfast, to watch cable, and watch what we wanted to… it was all terrific. We went to the Newport Aquarium as well. It was short, but interesting. The had a frog exhibit, and I immediately missed my pair. :-(  It made me want to get more, like I knew it would, but I have to do some more research first. My frogs’ deaths really upset me… I don’t want that to happen again. But, that was our relaxing weekend. It was nice. We’re slow to get back to the real world, but we’re working on it. Slowly.
